Ubuntu – samba mount fstab

An autocratically mount of samba shears during start is sometimes a very nice comfortable feature. And this is quite simple to achieve.

First setup a credential file like /home/administrator/.smbcredencials

administrator@admin007:~$ cat .smbcredentials
username=admin
password=P@ssw0rd

Followed by the entry in the /etc/fstab:

# Samba Mount
//192.168.178.250/share /home/administrator/share cifs credentials=/home/administrator/.smbcredentials 0 0

Reboot or remount and the external smb share appears at “/home/administrator/share”
